According to reports from Calciomercato, Chelsea has expressed interest in signing Juventus center-back Gleison Bremer during the summer transfer window. The Italian publication suggests that both Chelsea and Manchester United have a keen eye on the Brazilian defender.

Juventus, however, will need to carefully consider any offers they receive for Bremer, with a rumored price tag of over €60 million (£51 million) expected.

The highly-rated defender joined Juventus last summer from Torino and had an impressive debut season in the black and white stripes. His performances in Serie A have earned him a solid reputation as an all-action center-back.

Last year, there were reports from Gianluca Di Marzio that Chelsea had made a bid to sign Bremer from Torino. Eventually, the South American center-back moved to Juventus in the same summer transfer window.

While Bremer undoubtedly possesses talent and potential, he may not be a top priority for Chelsea in terms of summer transfers.

The Blues already boast a number of quality center-backs in their squad for the upcoming season. However, there are other areas on the pitch where they may require reinforcements.

It would be wise for Chelsea to focus their efforts on signing a new center-forward, defensive midfielder, and goalkeeper this summer.

These positions are likely to have a greater impact on the team’s overall performance and provide more immediate solutions to areas of concern.

Perhaps Bremer could be reconsidered by Chelsea in the future, especially when fellow Brazilian countryman Thiago Silva decides to retire from professional football. The experience and leadership provided by Silva will be invaluable to the team, and Bremer could potentially be a suitable replacement in the long run.

As the transfer window progresses, it will be interesting to see if Chelsea intensifies their pursuit of Bremer or shifts their focus towards other targets.

The club’s strategic decision-making will play a crucial role in shaping the squad for the upcoming season and their aspirations for success in domestic and European competitions.
