Thomas Partey’s Future at Arsenal in Flux

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been linked with an exit from the Emirates Stadium in this summer transfer window, and there has been a new update on his future.

Partey started for Arsenal in their first pre-season friendly against Nurnberg on Friday, but his future at the club remains uncertain. CBS Sports journalist James Benge has reported that Partey’s camp has indicated that Juventus would be his preferred destination if he were to leave Arsenal. However, Al Ahli, a club from Saudi Arabia, is also reportedly interested in acquiring his services.

Partey had an impressive season with Arsenal in midfield in 2022-23, making 46 appearances in all competitions and scoring three goals. He was a key part of the team’s second-place finish in the Premier League, and his performances earned him praise from manager Mikel Arteta.

However, despite his contributions on the pitch, it appears that Arteta is open to selling Partey this summer. This decision has raised eyebrows among supporters who have grown fond of the midfielder’s performances and believe he still has much more to offer.

Al Ahli are reportedly willing to offer Partey a lucrative contract in order to convince him to move to Saudi Arabia. The club is also said to be willing to meet Arsenal’s asking price for the midfielder.

It remains to be seen whether Partey will end up staying at Arsenal or moving to Juventus or Al Ahli. However, it is clear that his future at the club is in flux.

In addition to the above, here are some other factors that could affect Partey’s decision:

  • Β The level of competition for places in Arsenal’s midfield.
  • The club’s ability to attract other top players in the summer transfer window.
  • Partey’s personal preferences.

Ultimately, only Partey knows what he wants to do next. However, it is clear that his future at Arsenal is uncertain.
