According to sources, Arsenal has granted permission for midfielder Thomas Partey to explore a potential transfer to the Saudi Pro League.
Saudi Arabia has been investing heavily in its league, attracting notable names such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Interest has also been shown in Lionel Messi, while players like Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Ruben Neves are edging closer to moves to the country.
Partey, who joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in a £45 million transfer in 2020, played in 33 out of 38 Premier League games last season as the Gunners mounted their first title challenge in 15 years.

However, Arsenal is currently in the process of reshaping their promising young squad and is open to letting the 30-year-old midfielder go, despite their return to the Champions League and just three years after making him the fourth most expensive player in their history.
One of the reasons Arsenal is considering Partey’s potential move to Saudi Arabia is the hope of potentially making a profit by selling him for more than the £45 million they paid for his services. This could be an attractive proposition for the club, as they continue to evolve their squad.
Additionally, Granit Xhaka, another midfielder at Arsenal, has reportedly agreed to a deal to join Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
However, Arsenal is reluctant to finalize Xhaka’s departure until they secure a replacement. The Gunners are said to be leading the pursuit of West Ham and England star Declan Rice, who is valued by his current club at over £100 million.
Talks have already been held between Arsenal and West Ham, but Arsenal’s initial bid for Rice was rejected for falling short of the asking price.
As Arsenal navigates the summer transfer window, they are faced with important decisions regarding their midfield.
Partey’s potential departure, coupled with Xhaka’s expected move and the pursuit of Rice, signifies the club’s determination to reshape their squad and potentially generate funds for further signings.
The outcome of these negotiations will significantly impact Arsenal’s midfield composition for the upcoming season.
