In a recent revelation by renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano, it has been disclosed that Chelsea Football Club has reached a consensus on personal terms with Moises Caicedo, indicating a potential transfer deal in the works.

Romano shared this information during a Q&A session on ‘The Residency,’ also highlighting that negotiations between the two clubs are poised to commence.

Chelsea has identified Caicedo as their top priority to bolster their midfield ahead of the upcoming season. The club’s objective is to find a suitable candidate who can form a long-term partnership with Enzo Fernandez in the heart of their midfield.

While the World Cup winner’s performances have been highly commendable, the club recognizes the potential for further enhancement through astute transfer business this summer.

Initially, there were suggestions that Manuel Ugarte would be the ideal addition to the squad. However, their pursuit of Ugarte was derailed by Paris Saint-Germain, rendering the negotiations futile.

Now, the focus shifts to engaging in talks with Brighton & Hove Albion as Chelsea aims to secure the services of Caicedo. This phase of the process, widely acknowledged as a challenging task within the football community, is on the verge of commencing. Romano confirmed, “Chelsea have an agreement with Caicedo, now talks between Chelsea & Brighton.”

The Seagulls might leverage their interest in Chelsea’s promising young talent, Levi Colwill, as leverage in their negotiations. Brighton, having recently secured a spot in European competitions against the odds, is willing to break their transfer record to acquire Colwill on a permanent basis after an impressive loan spell last season.

However, Chelsea remains steadfast in their stance that the player is not for sale, with newly appointed manager Mauricio Pochettino expressing admiration for the young Englishman.

As the transfer saga unfolds, Chelsea fans eagerly await further developments, hoping to witness the arrival of Moises Caicedo to Stamford Bridge, while also keeping a watchful eye on the potential departure of Levi Colwill.
