Arsenal Set to Secure Declan Rice Signing as Manchester City Withdraw
In a significant turn of events, Manchester City has decided to withdraw from the race to sign Declan Rice, paving the way for Arsenal to secure the highly sought-after player.
While Arsenal’s recent offer exceeding £100 million has not yet been accepted by West Ham, the departure of Manchester City leaves the Gunners with a clear path to negotiate for Rice’s services.

Initially, Arsenal had been waiting for Manchester City to make their first official offer before resuming negotiations.
After City presented a £90 million package, matching Arsenal’s offer but with fewer instalments, Arsenal’s technical director Edu countered with a fee closer to West Ham’s valuation of the talented English midfielder.
Although it was widely expected that Manchester City would make another attempt, the club has ultimately decided against increasing their financial offer. Considering the substantial sum involved, it is understandable why they have chosen not to escalate the situation any further.
Reports indicate that Arsenal still need to reach an agreement with West Ham regarding the structure of the deal. Arsenal’s preference is to pay £100 million over a span of four years, while the Hammers are seeking the funds within 18 months.

The Gunners’ interest in Rice dates back to January, and whispers from those close to the player have consistently suggested his preference for a move to the Emirates Stadium.
If all goes according to plan, Rice could join Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber as new additions to the Arsenal squad for pre-season training when the first team reconvenes in a few weeks’ time.
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s manager, will undoubtedly be pleased to secure his primary target of the summer transfer window.
The acquisition of Declan Rice would be a significant boost for the Gunners, reinforcing their midfield and adding further depth to the squad as they prepare for the upcoming season.
