Dembele opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a stunning goal, curling a shot into the top corner from the edge of the box after being played through by Pedri.

The Catalans doubled their lead in the 35th minute when Araujo headed home from a corner, after Vinicius Junior had missed a golden opportunity to level the scores from the penalty spot.

Real Madrid had the better of the possession in the first half, but they were unable to create any clear-cut chances, with Vinicius Junior their only real threat.

Barcelona, on the other hand, were clinical in front of goal and could have had more than two goals by halftime.
