Declan Rice’s departure from West Ham United appears to be imminent, as confirmed by the club’s chairman, David Sullivan. With the summer transfer window on the horizon, the 24-year-old midfielder has been consistently linked with a move away from the Hammers, despite having two years remaining on his contract.

During a recent interview on talkSPORT, Sullivan stated that Rice is likely to have played his final game for West Ham. He acknowledged the promises made to the player and his desire to seek new challenges elsewhere.

Sullivan emphasized Rice’s commitment to the club throughout the season, acknowledging that his departure would necessitate finding suitable replacements.

The chairman expressed regret at the prospect of Rice’s departure, revealing that the club had made a substantial contract offer of £200,000 per week to the player 18 months ago, which was turned down.

Sullivan estimated that Rice’s decision to remain at West Ham during this time has cost him approximately £10 million in lost wages. However, the chairman acknowledged that it is not feasible to retain a player who no longer wishes to remain with the club.

Meanwhile, Arsenal is reportedly making preparations to secure the services of Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo in the upcoming transfer window. The Gunners had previously submitted a bid of £70 million in January, which was rejected.

However, they are now ready to return with an improved offer of £75 million. It is worth noting that Brighton initially insisted that Caicedo was not for sale in the winter transfer window. However, recent developments suggest they may be more open to negotiations, potentially leading to an agreement closer to their asking price.

In another potential transfer development, Jorginho, the Chelsea midfielder, could play a crucial role in Arsenal’s pursuit of Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

According to reports from La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri is keen on a reunion with Jorginho and has urged the club’s president, Claudio Lotito, to secure the Arsenal midfielder’s signature.

To facilitate this potential deal, Arsenal may propose a swap deal, offering Jorginho a return to Italy while acquiring Milinkovic-Savic for their own ranks in North London.

As the summer transfer window draws closer, the football world awaits the official confirmation of these potential transfers. Fans of both West Ham and Arsenal will undoubtedly be anxious to see how these developments unfold and how they will impact their respective teams’ future prospects.
