Arsenal’s summer transfer activity is expected to be robust as they prepare for their long-awaited return to the Champions League. Recent reports suggest that the Gunners have expressed interest in securing the services of Atalanta’s talented forward, Rasmus Hojlund.

Following an impressive season in the Premier League, where Arsenal secured a commendable second-place finish behind Manchester City, manager Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen his squad for the upcoming European campaign.

While negotiations for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice are said to be in progress and talks are underway for Fenerbahce attacking midfielder Arda Guler, another potential target on Arsenal’s radar is Hojlund.

However, the Gunners face competition, as Chelsea and Manchester United have also shown interest in the Danish striker, according to a recent update by 90min.

The report reveals that Hojlund is eager to secure a move this summer, but Atalanta is unlikely to let him go without a substantial fee. The Serie A side has set a price tag of at least £55 million for the forward’s services, and Arsenal’s rivals, Chelsea and Manchester United, are also closely monitoring the situation. Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid have reportedly joined Arsenal in making contact with Atalanta and the player’s representatives.

At the young age of 20, Hojlund is already establishing himself as an accomplished center-forward, having scored five goals in just four appearances for Denmark. His market value has significantly increased since the end of 2021, rising from €1 million to €35 million, as indicated by Transfermarkt.

Renowned journalist Sacha Pisani has described Hojlund as “scary quick.” In his 33 appearances for Atalanta, the forward has scored nine goals and provided four assists.

Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has also praised Hojlund’s speed and technical ability, comparing him to Erling Haaland. Gasperini expressed his belief in the young striker’s potential, highlighting his remarkable progress and physical attributes.

If Arsenal manages to secure Hojlund’s signature, they could potentially have a future star in their ranks. With his speed, height, left-footedness, and standing at 6ft 2, he offers a different dynamic in attack compared to players like Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.

As Arsenal aims to capitalize on a solid season under Arteta, securing the services of Hojlund could prove to be a pivotal move. The Gunners’ fans should keep a close eye on their club’s activities in what promises to be a busy summer transfer window.
