Kai Havertz’s MLS All-Stars Skills Challenge performance goes viral.
Kai Havertz’s performance for Arsenal in the latest MLS All-Stars Skills Challenge has gone viral, with fans and pundits alike questioning the Germany international’s finishing ability.
Havertz, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in a £65 million move last month, failed to score a single goal in the Cross and Volley Challenge, hitting the woodwork on a couple of occasions and forcing the goalkeeper to make one or two saves.
In contrast, Folarin Balogun scored three goals in the challenge, while D.C United striker Christian Benteke also bagged himself a couple for the MLS All-Stars.
Havertz’s overall performance in the Skills Challenge also raised eyebrows, with some fans questioning his technical ability.

However, it is important to remember that this was just a bit of light entertainment for fans in the States, and it is still extremely early days for Havertz at Arsenal.

Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who has been impressed with Havertz in training, believes that the German has the potential to be a “very good signing” for the Gunners.
“Kai already has a lot of experience,” Ramsdale told Kicker. “He was captain in Leverkusen when he was very young. He’s an international player, has won the Champions League and scored in important games.
“He can play in different positions, which will help the team. He’s also a tall boy, so he can also help with set-piece situations, which shouldn’t be underestimated in modern football.”
Ramsdale added that Havertz is “very good with the ball at his feet” but can also be a “target player”.
“As his opponent, you could never really rest against him because he is constantly looking for free space,” said Ramsdale. “Also, he’s very generous on the ball and likes to use the wingers or players who move up from midfield. Hopefully we will see all of these qualities next season.”
Only time will tell whether Havertz can justify his £65 million price tag, but there is no doubt that he has the potential to be a star player for Arsenal.
