PSG to Sell Kylian Mbappe, Target Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun as Replacement
Paris Saint-Germain have decided to sell Kylian Mbappe this summer after the French striker refused to sign a new contract with the club. Mbappe’s contract expires at the end of the season, and PSG are unwilling to let him leave for free.
PSG have identified Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun as a potential replacement for Mbappe. Balogun, 22, scored 21 goals in 37 appearances for Stade Reims in Ligue 1 last season. He is a versatile forward who can play as a striker or on the wing.
Arsenal are reportedly asking for £50 million for Balogun. The Gunners are reluctant to sell the young striker, but they may be forced to do so if he refuses to sign a new contract.
Balogun is keen to play regular first-team football, and he is unlikely to get that at Arsenal with Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus also vying for a starting spot. PSG could offer Balogun the chance to play alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar, and that could be a tempting proposition for the young striker.
The transfer window is still open, and it will be interesting to see if PSG and Arsenal can reach an agreement for Balogun. If they do, it would be a major coup for PSG, who would be getting a talented young striker who is already proven at Ligue 1 level.
Balogun’s Future at Arsenal
Mikel Arteta is yet to make a decision on Balogun’s future, but it is looking increasingly likely that the striker will leave Arsenal this summer. The Gunners are keen to keep Balogun, but they are unwilling to offer him the guaranteed first-team football that he desires.
Balogun has two years remaining on his contract at Arsenal, but he is eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in January. If he does not sign a new contract with Arsenal, he could leave the club for free next summer.
It remains to be seen where Balogun will end up this summer, but he is sure to be in high demand. The striker is a talented young player with a bright future, and he will be hoping to make a big impact at his next club.
